Clifton Mill

We took a trip to visit the historic Clifton Mill. This is a neat pace to see. It is on of the largest water powered grist mill still in existence.
It was built in 1802 by a war solider and frontiersman Owen Davis.
This place is full of history and you can still see the wheel running. They have a store that sells all kinds of nick knacks and there is also a restaurant that has great food and a beautiful view of the covered bridge and water below it. Oh yes there is a covered bridge and I LOVE covered bridges.
There is also a 1940's gas station museum next door to the mill. It is covered with all kinds of old signs.
During this time of the year, they are known for their beautiful Christmas light display.
When we visited they were putting the lights up and getting things ready for the Holidays to kick off. They have done this display for over 20 years. They have 3.5 million lights that light up the mill, the gorge, the covered bridge, and the riverbanks.
They also have a 100 foot "waterfall" of lights.
They also have a miniature village and a Santa Claus museum.
If you visit the Christmas display there is a $10.00 per person for anyone over the age of 7.
To visit the mill any other time it is free.
Clifton Mill is located at 75 Water Street. Clifton, Ohio
