Fort Piqua Hotel

We took a trip to one of the largest cities in Miami County, Piqua, Ohio. We went there to visit one thing..the haunted Fort Piqua Hotel. OMG let me just say this is one of the most amazing beautiful buildings I have ever seen. It was built between 1890 and 1891. This hotel has had some famous people in history stay at it. There has been William Howard Taft and Teddy Roosevelt.
This hotel has seen its share of problems. It is said that when the hotel was building its sewer system, one of the diggers was buried alive. There is also the story about some workers claim that while they were digging the basement they stumbled upon a bunch of skeletons and that a man committed suicide by hanging in a hotel room. There story that you hear the most that is very true is about a criminal and a police officer. During the 70's, the two men shot and killed each other in the hotel lobby.
The ghost of a former waiter is seen walking around the building. People will hear strange things and see shadows.
The hotel is home to Mulligan's pub, the Piqua public library, and Winans chocolate and coffees.
We had lunch at Mulligan's pub and this place is great!!! They had great food and the service was on point. The inside of the pub is beautiful. If you are in Piqua make sure you stop in Mulligan's.
The only thing that is used upstairs is the banquet center which is located on the 4th floor so the only way you can see inside of it is to go to Mulligan's or the library. When we were there, we did not see or feel anything. But after I got home and we downloaded our photos in the upstairs window on the left hand side we took a pic of what looks like a nurse or a nun in the window.
This building is well worth the trip. Even if you don't see anything you will LOVE this building. I am a history buff and I love old buildings with history and this one has alot of it. Also if you are like me and you like architecture then this is the place for you. I mean come on its not every day that you see a building that has faces built into it. Yes I said faces and they were so cool.
Also the town of Fort Piqua is a nice little town to spend the day. They have little shops and antiques.
Fort Piqua is located at corner of Main and High street in Piqua, Ohio.

Camp Dennison ghost hunt

We took a trip to Camp Dennison Ohio to visit the old Civil War training camp for Ohio soldiers.
The camp was named after Ohio's Governor William Dennison. There was hospitals on the sight that helped cared for the wounded soldier. Many soldiers died there and were buried at the nearby cemetery.
When this was a training ground for the soldiers, there was a train track that was there. It ran through where the camp was. It is now gone and a bike trail is there.
Some of the ghost stories that have been told is people have seen a man dressed in a Civil War uniform while walking on the bike trail. At the cemetery people will see dark figures walking around at night and also they have heard screams or crying.
I will tell you what we seen or heard or felt while we were there.
We went to the cemetery first, while we were there we did not see or hear anything. I turned on my voice recorder and asked question and did not pick anything up nor did I get any spikes on my emf meter. But when we were walking around in the cemetery it was a little cold out but not to bad, for some reason I could not stop my right hand and arm from shaking. Every time I would hold up my camera it would do that. Also there was one grave that I was drawn to. I could not keep from walking around this grave and looking at it. This is a older cemetery that does not look like it has had any recent burials in it. It is very well kept and small.
When we got to the bike trail we went to this one park that had a cannon and a memorial to some of the soldiers. This is the area where I got some amazing things. My emf meter was going crazy at this one spot. I checked to make sure there was no power lines around to make it go off and there was not. Doug was reading a plaque about a man named Alfred that was a surgeon and helped with the soldiers so he said it could be him making the meter spiked so I turned on my voice recorder and started asking Alfred questions. When we came home and I downloaded my voice recorder and was playing it back you hear me ask Alfred if he has anything he would like to say and about 3 seconds later you can hear a mans voice say surgeon. Also you can hear a train on the recording and there is no train tracks near there. Now remember when this was the training camp there use to be a train track that was there.
When we walked onto the bike trail in a couple of spots my meter started going off again. I did not pick anything up there on my voice recorder just the spike on the meter.
I did not pick anything up in photos. I truly believe that this place is a hot bed of paranormal. With all of the soldiers that have lost their lives there and all that has happened  there has be something still hanging around there. Even if you don't see or hear anything this place has a sad feeling to it. It's like you get a feeling of how many men lost their lives here when you are standing looking at the park.
Since the bike trail is public they are open at night. If you park your car in the parking lot they have, you have a hour after sunset to be out so that will give you enough time to investigate the trail. The cemetery does close at night so do not enter it when it is dark or you will get in trouble. But you can stand outside the gate and look into the cemetery and see if you can see anything. I am going to go back at night and take some pics with my night vision camera and see what I can see.
All in all I was very happy with our experience we had while here.
Camp Dennison is located at 7650 Glendale Milford Road. Camp Dennison, Ohio.

Haunted Log Cabin in Cynthiana, Ky.

One of the other places in Cynthiana, Ky that we got to investigate was the Log Cabin. This building use to be the Courthouse, then it was the home of James and Elizabeth McPheters. They are said to be the ghost that still lives in this house some 200 years later.
While we were standing outside in the dark ( gotta add to the creepy feeling ) Doug was taken pics with his regular camera and I was taken pics with my night vision infrared camera. I kept getting the feeling that someone was watching us, it was a very creepy feeling. I was looking all around and did not see anyone that would be staring at us. When we got home and downloaded all the pics, I was looking at the ones that Doug took of the cabin and I did not see anything on them. If you do any ghost hunting then you most likely do what I do with photos that you take which is enlarge ( zoom in ) all of them and look and see if anything shows up that should not be there. Like I said nothing showed up on Doug's but when I downloaded mine from the night vision camera standing on the top floor of the deck is the silhouette of what looks to be a man. He appears to be leaning on the window with his hand propped up on his hip. This has got to be one of the best pics I have taken. I wonder if this is the reason why I felt like someone was watching us. Maybe it was James McPheters making sure that we didn't do anything to his house. What or who it was I do not know, all I know is if you have the chance to investigate this place do it. Who know what or who you might get a pic of.
If you have been here and have seen or hard anything leave a comment and let me know, I would love to hear about it.

Haunted Old County Jail In Cynthiana, Ky.

We went to Cynthiana, Ky. to do a ghost investigation at a few places. One of the places that we investigated was the Old County Jail. This was a creepy place in its self and when we went through it, it was dark and damp and there is no electric in it. This place was full of paranormal things. I was standing in one of the cells and I heard knocking on one of the walls. Now these walls are about 10 inches thick and they are all concert so if someone ( living ) was in the other cell knocking on the wall there is no way you would hear it.
You get a very creepy feeling while in this place. It only has I think 4 cells in it and it is very cramped.
You will feel all of the hair on your arms stand up while you are standing in the cells as if someone is watching you.
If you ever have the chance to investigated this place make sure you do. Maybe you will hear one of the inmates that passed away in the jail knocking on the walls.
If you have ever visited this place and have seen or heard anything comment and let me know I would love to hear what others have seen or heard.
If you would like to see more pics of the jail visit and like my Facebook group page, Lyinn and Doug's Haunted Adventures.
Some of the pics I am posting were taken with my night vision, infrared camera. My camera will not pick up dust or anything like that so when you see something it is real.

Woodland Mound Park Visit

We visited the Woodland Mound Park and let me start by saying if you know me then you know I love parks. I loved this park and can not say enough good things about it.
It is a 1,066 acre park that has everything...it has a water park for kids, a snack bar, gift shop,   a 18 hole disc golf course and so much more. They also have a few live animals like spiders, snakes, and the cutest owl I have ever seen, he was injured and unable to be returned to the wild. I so want to take him home.
They have a picnic area and walking trails. This is just a beautiful park that you could spend the whole day at.
All the people that worked there that we came into contact with were all so sweet.
If you have not checked out this park, I would highly recommend it and if you have kids and go during the summer months I am sure they will enjoy the Parky's Wetland Adventure water park.
Woodland Mounds is located at 8250 Old Kellogg Road. Cincinnati, Ohio.
They do charge a $ 3.00 fee to enter or you can pay $ 10.00 and buy the pass for the year that is good for all the park of Hamilton, Ohio, that is what we do and that way you are good for the year.

Haunted Loudoun House, Lexington, Kentucky

When we were in Lexington we stopped by the Loudoun House. This is a beautiful building. It is a Gothic Revival mansion that was built in the 19th century.
This use to be a private residence till the 20's when it was sold to the city of Lexington. It is now an art center.
I love this building and I can see why it is suppose to be haunted. It looks like a house that you would see on top of a hill all by itself and those are the kind of houses that I love.
There has been reports of a back cat spirit seen all over this building. There has also been reports of two female apparitions in Victorian dresses. People have heard voices in the upstairs and have smelled perfume.
Like I said this is a beautiful mansion and it is well worth the time to check out, if not for the haunted part just for the history and architecture.
