The Haunted Palace Theater

While we were in Louisville, I wanted to go and see The Palace Theater. This is a beautiful theater and it is also said to be haunted. It is one of Louisville grandest movie venues. It was designed by John Eberson and was said to cost 1.2 million dollars to build. The Palace opened on September 1, 1928. When the theater was being restored in the 1980's is when workers began reporting sightings and strange sounds. There has been all kinds of strange noisy and sighting of people that are out of place or that should not be in the building. There have been sightings of a man dressed in 1930's clothing seen on the balcony. There has been sighting of a woman in 1940's era clothing climbing the  lobby's grand staircase. People have also heard the giggling sounds of a young child coming from a restroom.
The theater itself has a seating capacity of 2,700 people. It has arcades, balconies, and turrets. It is done in Cobalt blue, with red and gold. Above is a curved vaulted ceiling with a 139 sculptures of faces of historical figures.
This is a beautiful building both inside as well as outside.
If you are in Louisville be sure to check the theater out and if you can go inside or see a show and who knows you might even see someone that is not suppose to be there :)
