Light Up The Levee
On November 26,2013 we went to Newport On The Levee for Light Up The Levee for the official lighting. If you have never seen the tree at night with all the lights, you should make plans to go and see it. It features more then 1 million LED lights that are all set to holiday music, so the lights dance to the music. They dance to the music every 20 minutes and it is so beautiful to see. This was my first year to attend the official tree lighting and I was not disappointed. I had the honor of meeting a lot of very sweet and well known people. I met Frank Marzullo and Jacki Jing both from channel 19 news you could not meet two nicer people then them. I also met Mr and Mrs Fezziwig from my all time favorite movie Christmas Carol and let's just say I was in heaven..lol.. I also met the Nutcracker from Cincinnati Ballet, the Penguin mascot from the Newport Aquarium, and the mascot for Ride The Ducks. I also had the very special honor of meeting Mr Santa Claus himself. This was a great time with lot's of beautiful lights, great Christmas music, and wonderful people. There is also the Newport Express Holiday Depot that you have to check out. It has lot's of train displays and it also has some pretty amazing Lego's that you have to see, that are done by the group Okilug that Doug is a member of, he does the pictures for them. If you go be sure you check out the Music Hall display that is there, it is made completely out of Lego's.
You will not believe your eyes. It is pretty amazing. You can also visit with Santa while you are there. The cost is $5.00 but you will receive a free one hour pass to Gameworks with each paid admission. There is a cost for photos with Santa.
If you are looking for something to do with your family, check out the Levee and watch the light display.
If you or someone in your family is into Lego's check out Okilug web page it is okilug.com
I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and spend it with the ones that you love and make some great memory's after all that's what the holidays should be about.
Disclaimer..I am not not getting paid to do this post. I did receive free admission to the Newport Express Holiday Depot.
