Flying Pigs Statues

I am in love with these Flying Pig Statues that you can find around Cincinnati. We found a list on the ArtWorks web page and set out on a hunt to see how many of the pigs we could find. If you  do not know what Flying Pig Statues are, they are fiberglass pigs that ArtWorks started doing. They are painted and they are amazing. I love going and looking at all the details that have went into these works of art. ArtWorks does some amazing art around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. They are a very talented. One of my favorite pigs that they did was Lady Gaga, but I pretty much loved them all. We were able to find a lot of the pigs. Most of the pigs are gone but a few business and places around the city still have one. Every time I see one, I have to get a pic. If they bring all the pigs back out again make sure you get a map and see how many you can find.

Shark Girl

I am a BIG fan of art. I truly believe you can find beauty in anything. I love going to the Cincinnati Art Museum and seeing all the different art they have on display. One day when we were there, I came across the sculpture called Shark Girl and let me just say this had to be my all time favorite art piece. There is something about her that I love and find so interesting. Well last weekend we went to Sawyer Point and was walking around and to my surprise sitting on a little wall was the one and only Shark Girl. She is in a different pose then she had at the Art Museum. I was so happy. I had to get my picture with her. I love, love, love this work of art. We were just at the Art Museum this past Friday and Shark Girl was in storage. If you get down to Sawyer Point be on the look out for Shark Girl and make sure you get a picture with her. You can also share your pics on her Facebook page.  The pictures I am posting are of her at the Art Museum and Sawyer Point.

American Queen Steamboat

If you were down near Sawyer Point and the Ohio river on August 8,2013, you most likely saw a big steamboat. The American Queen was docked there. The American Queen is the largest river steamboat ever built. It was built in 1995, and is 6 decks high. It has 222 staterooms and holds 436 passengers. It also has a crew of 160. It offers 3 to 10 night voyages from a variety of homeports, which includes Saint Paul, New Orleans, Louisville, Cincinnati, Baton Rouge, Vicksburg, Natchez, Pittsburgh, Memphis, and Saint Louis.
This was a neat boat to see up close. It was big. If you were down on the river on August 8th and you saw the boat let me know what you thought of it.

LEGO'S At Comic Expo 2013

Have you ever been to a LEGO show or a LEGO display ? Well, you should go and check out one real soon. You don't know what you are missing. These creators take miscellaneous Lego parts( called bricks) and make some of the most interesting, creative, wonderful scenery, buildings, architecture, trains and you name it, they can do it. What is so great is that they do it for the children who come to the shows and for the kid in all off us. The next show is at Cincinnati Comic Expo at Duke Energy Center, September 13,14,and 15th.
