Spaghetti Warehouse

When we went to Dayton we had lunch at The Spaghetti Warehouse. If you like Italian food then this is the place for you. I loved them. The inside of the building was so neat. They had a trolley car in the middle of the floor that you can eat in. The service there is great. I had the four cheese manicotti and Doug had the grilled chicken linguini. My food was so yummy and Doug said his was very good. I loved all the strange little thing's they have when you enter the restaurant . They had a chandelier that is shaped like a boat. There is old license plates all over one wall and there is even a catholic confession booth. I love to find new and different places to eat at and I have to say I really enjoyed this place. If you are in the Dayton area check them out. They also have other locations so check out their website and see if there is one near you.
The one we went to is located at 36 W. Fifth Street. Dayton, Ohio

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park

We visited Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and let me just say I LOVED this park. This park combines three of the things I love. A park, a museum, and art. Anyone who knows me knows I think you can find the beauty in anything and at this park I saw so much beauty. There is art all through the park and that is beautiful in itself. We also was very close to a baby deer sleeping under one of the art pieces. The park is so beautiful. It is 335 acres and it overlooks the Great Miami River. There is lakes all through the park. We went on a Tuesday and there was no one else in the park but us and the people that work for the park. It was so peaceful. It would be a great place to go and spend the day and have a picnic. I live in Kentucky and the park is located in Ohio. It took us about a hour to get there, but it is so worth the drive. This might not be a park for small kids as there is no play ground area. I loved all of the art pieces they had but I think my favorite was the Romeo and Juliet statues. They were big. They had Romeo on one side and Juliet on the other. There was a heart at the top and their hands were touching. It was so beautiful.
At Christmas time they light up the whole park and you can drive through it. I am going to check it out this year, they call it Holiday Lights On The Hill.
Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park is located at 1763 Hamilton-Cleves Road. State Route 128. Hamilton, Ohio.
They are open year round ( with weather permitting in the winter ) 8:00am-5:00pm
The ancient sculpture museum is open from 12:00-5:00 daily.
Admission to the park is $8.00 a person and that includes the museum.
Their website is pyramidhill.org
If you are looking for a beautiful park to spend the day at check them out, I am sure you will love it as much as I did.

Cincinnati Public Library

                                          The water fountain

We went to the Cincinnati public library. This is the main library in Cincinnati. I am a big book worm and I loved this library. It is a big place and has everything from books ( of course ) to a coffee shop, art, and a gift shop. I loved the gift shop. It is called the Friends Shop and they carry everything from books to jewelry that is made by local people. I love to shop at places like that for neat and one of a kind gifts. I did some early Christmas shopping there. The staff at the gift shop and library are very friendly and helpful. I could spend all day there just looking at all the books. They have a water fountain out front of their building that is made to look like books. I think that is so neat looking. I loved it.  If you are in the downtown area stop in and see the library for yourself.
They are located at 800 Vine Street. Cincinnati, Ohio.

Burnet Woods Park

We visited Burnet Woods Park which is adjacent to University of Cincinnati campus. This is a nice park. They have a fishing lake and while we were there we saw some big fish swimming around. This park is 90 acres. They have a play ground for kids and picnic areas. It is home to the Wolff Planetarium. The oldest public planetarium west of the Allegheny Mountains.
The neat thing about this park and something I have never seen in a park before is they have stairs that lead down to a picnic area and the right side of the steps is a slide. I guess that is one way to get down the stairs faster :)
This is a very nice park and I am sure we will be going back. I think Doug and my dad might go there and see if they can catch that big fish we saw.
Burnet Woods Park is located at 3251 Brookline Drive. Cincinnati, Ohio

                                          ( My breakfast)

We went to have breakfast the other day and we chose Ingredients. I have never been to Ingredients so I was excited to go. This is a very good place to go. They not only have breakfast they also have lunch. Their menu has everything from bagels, to salads, to grilled and cold sandwiches. They also have brick oven pizza's. I had the Eggs your way, which was two eggs ( cooked anyway you want them) and your choice of bacon or sausage ( I had the sausage) and hashbrowns and toast. It was so yummy. I loved that my sausage was fixed in the brick stove, it made it taste so much better. Doug had the Breakfast Panini. His was the ham and cheddar one and it look delicious.
They have coffee and tea and juice. I had the OJ and Doug had the Caffe' Mocha. I loved this place and I can't wait to go back and try their lunch. I also want to try their pizza. They are located at 21 E. 5th Street. Cincinnati, Ohio. They are inside The Westin Cincinnati Hotel. They are open daily and you can dine in or take out. If it is a nice day out you can get your food to go an take it across the street and have lunch on Fountain Square.
If you are downtown and looking for a nice place to have breakfast or lunch check out Ingredients. The people who work there are so very sweet and friendly. We had great service.

Reality Tuesday Cafe

We went to the Reality Tuesday Cafe in Park Hills, Ky. This is a nice little cafe with a wide variety of coffee, tea and pastries. They also make cakes for special occasions.  I am not a big fan of flavored coffee so this was not really the place for me. I love coffee but I only drink it plain and black. I do like a strawberry and cream frappuccino, but they did not have them. I saw they had smoothies and I love smoothies, but all of their smoothies are tea based and I can not stand tea so that was a no go. I ended up getting a diet coke but Doug had the chai latte and he said it was very good. I did get a few of their pastries and some cookies. The cookies were great and my dad loved the pastry's.
The employees who were working the day we were there were all very friendly and nice. There is alot of places to sit inside as well as a few tables outside.
I don't think I will be stopping by there again as I said before I am not a fan of the flavor coffee and teas, but if you do like those kind of drinks then I would recommend you stop by.
I think they also offer sandwiches and salads.
They are located at 1518 Dixie Highway. Park Hills, Ky.

Boonshoft Museum Visit

We went to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. I loved this place. There is so much to see and do. This is a great place to take kids or to go and have fun as adults ( I think you are never to old to have fun). This place is unlike any other museum I have been to. They have a interactive science center, a children's museum, a planetarium and a zoo. They don't have a zoo as big as regular zoo's, but the one they do have is great. They had a bobcat, otter's, snakes and other animals. This is a museum that you can spend a couple of hours at or the whole day. There is so much that you will see and learn. I had a blast and I even got to pet a starfish which was pretty awesome :)
You can learn more about the museum by visiting their web page at boonshoftmuseum.org
They are open Monday-Saturday 9:00am -5:00pm and Sundays 12:00pm-5:00pm
Admission is Adults $12.00  Children ( ages 3-16) $9.00  Seniors ( 60+) $10.00 and children under age 3 and museum members are free. Your admission also includes the shows they have at the planetarium. The day we were there, they were showing 4 different shows, we saw the 7 wonders of the world one and we loved it. I think every day they offer different shows. There is no restaurant in the museum, but they do have vending machines that have a wide variety of food and drinks. You can also bring your own food.
They also have different programs going on so if you plan to go check out their web page to see what is going on there the day you are going.
They are located at 2600 DeWeese Parkway Dayton, Ohio 45414
Phone number is 937-275-7431
