Sugar and Spice Restaurant

On our quest for new places to eat, we went to Sugar and Spice Restaurant. This is an amazing little restaurant. The people who work there are so friendly and the service is great. But the best part is the food. You will love the home cooked meals at this place. This is not a big place as you can tell from the pictures but don't let the size fool you, you will love the food. We went on a Sunday and we got there around 11:30 am and the place was packed. We waited about 25 minutes but it was so worth the wait. If you go and they are busy be sure to wait you will be glad you did. They have 100 of little rubber ducks on shelves on the wall and the ( I think he was the owner ) gave us our pick of little rubber ducks. He was going around to the tables with buckets of them letting people pick out the ones they want..it was so cute to have a little something to take home ( it's the little things ).
The owner said they are known for their omelets and pancakes. The gentleman that was sitting next to me had the omelet and when they brought it out it was huge. It looked like it had 10 eggs in it..LOL..
He said he travels all over and he has only been to two places that had amazing omelets  one place was in Philadelphia and the other was Sugar and Spice.
I had 2 eggs, bacon, and french toast and it was so good. Doug had the Not So Reuben Reuben and fries. I love the names they have for their lunches. There is Cock-A-Doodle which is a chicken breast sandwich. A Lotta Bull which is a big hamburger. Those are just a few.
I LOVE this place and I will be going back.
They are located at 4381 Reading Road. Cincinnati, Ohio.
They are opened Monday- Sunday from 7am to 3pm
Their website is sugar-n-spice-restaurant.com
Disclaimer..I am not getting paid for this blog nor did I receive anything from Sugar and Spice. We paid for our meal. This is my own opinion.

Dixie Terminal

Dixie Terminal is a beautiful building in Cincinnati. It was built in 1921 and served as streetcar terminal, office building, and stock exchange. The terminal was used for bus service after the streetcar service ceased in 1950.
This building is truly incredible. It is full of marble and glass. I can not begin to tell you how gorgeous this building is.
It is located at 41-53 East Fourth Street downtown, Cincinnati
If you have the chance check out this breath taken building.

Cafe' De Paris

Anyone who knows me, knows I love anything that has to do with Paris so I had to go and check out Cafe' DE Paris restaurant. I love this place. It is a small restaurant but they have great food. We had our lunch outside, where they have  little tables. This is truly a great place to go for lunch. The people that work there are so friendly and the service is awesome. They are opened for breakfast and lunch  Monday- Saturday. They have all kinds of sandwich, soups, salads, as well as coffees, cappuccino, and teas.
They are located at 17 Garfield Place. Cincinnati, Ohio and there is parking by the restaurant at meters. If you are downtown check them at, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Santa Repels Down the Macy's Building

One of the neatest things I got to see this past Christmas was Santa repelling down the Macy's department store on Fountain Square in Cincinnati. Not only did Santa repel down the building but so do Rudolph and one of Santa's elves. They were doing all kind of tricks and flips as they came from the top of the building till they landed on the roof of the building below them. It was so fun to watch. After Santa landed they shot off fireworks that went on for about 20 minutes, they were so pretty. After everything was over the little ones could go to Macy's for story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There was also horse drawn carriage rides and the carriages are so beautiful. They have ice skating on the square also. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season. I am sure they will do it this year and if they do make sure you check it out.

Shillito's Elves

When I was growing up one of my family's holiday tradition was to drive down to see the Shillito's Elves every year at Shillito's department store. After awhile they made way with the elves and Shillitio's . This past year Newport on the Levee brought the elves back and I was so happy. I took Doug to see them because he had never seen them before and it was nice to share a tradition that I had as a child with someone else. The elves all move and they all have a job to do. There is elves sorting the children's letters to Santa so they can be mailed, there is a Santa that is fishing while a little squirrel claps as he catches a fish, there is elves painting and cutting wood. It is just a awesome thing to see.
When I was a child we didn't have all the animated things that are out now, so I would just stand and look at the elves as they moved and to me it was amazing.
The kids that were there when we were, they were just as in aw as I use to be. I am so happy that the Levee brought the elves back. They also had Lego town and a huge model train display. If they have them this year make sure you check them out. I am sure you will think they are as neat as I do...Hugs
