The Haunted Parking Garage in Columbus, Ohio

On December 10, 2011 when we went to Columbus, Ohio for the hockey game we parked in the arena's parking garage. I know you think ok big deal, but to me it was a big deal because this parking garage is said to be haunted. This garage use to be the Ohio State Penitentiary. On Easter Sunday, April 21, 1930, an inmate of the prison made an escape attempt by setting several fires. He thought that perhaps in the smoke and confusion he could slip away unnoticed. The cell blocks filled with black smoke and soon chaos ruled. Some have claimed that prison guards purposely allowed the cell doors to stay locked longer then necessary. Over 300 inmates died that day inside the prison, many of them never made it out of their cells.
The prison has now been tore down and has been turned into the parking garage for the Columbus BlueJackets hockey team. The arena is also built on the far north of the front building that the prison was built on. It is said that if you go to the parking lot during the night strange things would appear. It is also said that if you stand outside at where the prison yard use to be you can hear the roar of phantom flames, and horrible screams of men.
If you are in Columbus for a hockey game make sure you park in the arena's parking garage you never know what you might see or hear..hug's :)
