Cincinnati Underground Tour

While we were on vacation we went on the Underground Tour of Cincinnati. This is a very neat tour. It takes you through the underground tunnels of Cincinnati.

On this tour you will explore Cincinnati 's historic past. The following info is taken from the web page for the tour. Enjoy a stroll through the Gateway District, home to America's largest set of of historical landmarks. Visit buildings that were home to over 130 saloons, bars, and beer gardens, and theaters that hosted iconic entertainers Charlie Chaplin and Wild Bill Hickok. Learn how Cincinnati fell under the control of George Barnsdale "Boss" Cox, one of the most infamous and powerful political bosses in American history. Descend below the city streets to a hidden vault and explore newly discovered tunnels vital to Cincinnati brewery heritage.

Now our thoughts about the tour. This was a great tour and I would recommended it to anyone. There is alot of walking and the steps that you have to go down to get to the tunnels and narrow but it is well worth the trip. If you are from Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky you have heard of the old Gothic club The Warehouse. I visited that club once when I was younger. On the tour you will go inside the building. It is a creepy building now that it is closed down. I took 3 pics of Doug inside the building and could not get any of them to come out clear Also you will visit a church and in the downstairs they have a Crypt were bodies are buried under the floor of the church. We had a great time on this tour and it was fun to hear all about the history of Cincinnati during this time period.

The tour is done by American Legacy Tours they are the same ones that did the Newport Gangster tour we went on. The hours are Saturday 9:30 10:30 11:30 and 12:30. Sunday 11:30 and 2:00 ( does not include the crypts)

For more info you can email them at newportgangsters@gmail.com

The tour starts at The Cincy Haus 1218 Vine Street. Cincinnati, Ohio

You should check this tour out it is a great time!!!!
